Introduction
------------

  The DivX Pro(tm) 5.1 software is the version of DivX(R) video technology
  designed specifically for professional users. It includes all the features
  of DivX 5.1, plus extra advanced encoding technology and integrated encoding
  tools that appeal specifically to the most advanced users. DivX Pro is more
  than just a codec; it is an integrated suite of video tools.

  The DivX Pro 5.1 release also includes the Electrokompressiongraph(tm) 
  application. The EKG(tm) application enables an advanced video compressionist 
  to reallocate data to specific scenes within a video clip.


Installation instructions
-------------------------

  To install the DivX codec, you should follow the following simple steps:

  1. Copy the installer program (DivXPro51Bundle.exe) to a location on 
     your hard drive (e.g., C:\temp).  
  2. Run the installer program by double-clicking on the
     DivXPro51Bundle.exe icon.  
  3. Follow the instructions of the installer program to install the
     DivX Pro software.  
  4. Done! The software should be installed in your Systems directory.  
  
  **What files are installed?**: The DivX Pro software installer will install
  the following files on your system:
  
* divx.dll	 	(DivX Pro Software) 
* divxdec.ax		(DivX Decoder Filter) 
* README.txt		(This README file.)
* License.txt		(License agreement for the CODEC.)
* DivX Help Guide	(Internet Shortcut to DivX.com help site)
* EKG.exe               (Electrokompressiongraph(tm) application)
* config.exe		(DirectShow Decoder Configuration Utility) 
		 
  
  **Uninstalling DivX Pro Software**: To remove the DivX Pro software from
  your system, you should use the "Add/Remove Programs" control panel in
  Windows. To this by selecting "Start -> Settings -> Control Panel ->
  Add/Remove Programs" from the Windows Start menu. In the listbox that is
  presented to you, choose "DivX Pro 5.1 Bundle" and click "remove."


What's new in this version
--------------------------

  This version of DivX Pro adds huge speed improvement and automatic adaptive
  post-processing on the decoder side as well as new high-quality motion
  estimation, rate distortion, Psychovisual mode, feedback mode and a redesigned
  GUI on the encoder side.
